Designing merch for a team isn't just about slapping a logo on a garment. It's about capturing a moment.
From internal joke to tangible reality
Bombardino started as an internal meme on Slack: a crocodile playing the euphonium (or "bombardino" in Spanish). The image was so absurd and funny that it took deep root in our team culture.
When it came time to choose a design for the new team shirts, there was no doubt. It had to be the crocodile.
I took the concept to the final design, optimizing colors for print and ensuring the spirit of the original meme remained intact. The result was a total success: people don't just wear it to company events, but in their everyday lives.
Why did it work?
- Authenticity: It wasn't a forced "corporate" design; it was something generated by the team itself.
- Exclusivity: Only those who know the story understand the joke behind the drawing.
- Quality: A good design on a high-quality garment makes people actually want to wear it.
